Local soccer academy to play Polokwane City

The ambitious Bela-Bela Soccer Academy squad was this week headed for a friendly match with the Polokwane City FC development side.

The match was scheduled for mid-week.

Bela-Bela Soccer Academy players visit the Limpopo capital at a time Premier Sopccer League (PSL) campaigners, Polokwane City FC, is struggling to cling onto its professional status.

Polokwane City FC is at position number 13 on the league log standings, just two points ahead of Free State Stars FC, which is fighting to move a notch up from number 15.

To the contrary, Bela-Bela Soccer Academy has been on a high, with sensational midfielder Benencia Nku headed for trials at National Fisrt Division (NFD) campaigners, Jomo Cosmos FC.

Bela-Bela Soccer Academy head coach, Sam Modise, said he hoped one or two of the players had the prospect to catch the eye of the Polokwane City FC development side technical staff.

The academy occupied pride of place at the top of the local football association league log standings.

Nku hails all the way from the tobacco farmlands of Vaalwater.
