The 55th Bosveld inter-school athletics meeting was held on Saturday, 24 February, at a waterlogged Hoërskool Ellisras.
The overall winner was Hoërskool Piet Potgieter at 530 points, with Hoërskool Ellisras the runners-up (523) and Hoërskool Frikkie Meyer coming up third (499).
The best performers for the chanting and singing catergory were Frikkie Meyer at number one, with Piet Potgieter second, and Warries third.
Hoërskool Hans Strijdom were the winners of the prestige category.
Die Hansies junior girls were third.
Hans Strijdom obtained an overall 14 first places, nine positions as runners-up, and 18 places as second runners-up.
Outstanding in her performance was Macayla Treurnicht who triumphed in the under-15 long jump, 800-metre and 1500-metre events.
Jan-Hendrik Ebersohn was the winner in the boys under-16 event over 800-metres, while Ruben De Vos was trumphant in the under-19 javeline event.
Hansies headmaster George Klopper extended his gratitude to all the participants.
Hoërskool Nylstroom gave the athletics meeting their all, obtaining fourth place overall.
The star athletie Die Nylies was Danél Niemann over the under-16 track events.
