The top five learners at Raeleng Secondary School received awards for their sterling work on the occasion of a special ceremony at the school on Friday 20 April.
School Governing Body members, management and the broader staff attended.
Teachers who obtained a 100% performance in subjects were also awarded for their achievement.
The awards sponsors, Forever Resorts Bela-Bela and Pep Stores, made available the various prizes received.
Winning learners received certificates and free day entry vouchers to the resort, while winning educators were awarded certificates and free weekend getaway.
The top five learners also received a sponsored tablet each.
In the learners’ category, Grade 9 learner, Mapula Makutu obtained 60%, while Grade 8 learners, Tlhompho Mogomusi obtained 62% each, with Mack Mafafo obtaining 63% and Timothy Moyo at 69%.
Kabelo Moselane was the overall winner after he obtained an impressive 78%.
He obtained 84% in Physical Science, and 75% in Mathematics.
The school principal, Joseph Mashishi, emphasized that in order for the learners to do more from now onwards, the stakes have been upped, with this year’s rating percentage being increased from 60% to 70%.
