First and foremost we would like to welcome Michael Makhubela, our new permanently employed municipal manager, Ramadiga Melvin Marutha and Jamela Selapyane, head of corporate services.
We are also in the process of finalising other key positions that still need to be filled.
We have made strides in sport since March by officially opening the Bela-Bea High School Stadium where a football tournament was held over Easter. The Moloto Stadium upgrade is continuing in order for it to be transformed into a state of the art facility which can accommodate and host all kinds of sporting events.
The widening of the bridge at the entrance of the Bela-Bela township is due to start soon.
Once construction starts, an alternative entrance along the R101 to Modimolle will be open for motorists.
The Integrated Development Plan (IDP) roadshow where the municipality will meet with all the wards, had already commenced on Tuesday 24 April. This is for the com-munity to give their input to the plans and express their needs for the next five years. Community members should take note of the dates and locations when the municipality will visit them.
As for the youth, we are looking forward to the career expo that will be held in May.
Various tertiary institutions will be in attendance to offer matric learners a choice of further studying and various courses. Learners will even have the opportunity to gain information on how to obtain bursaries.
This event is not only for current matric learners, but also for people who have already left school.
